Crux Action Learning Model for High Potential Leaders

Crux Move Consulting’s Action Learning Model is utilized with cross-functional teams of identified high potential leaders. In addition to solving critical work challenges, it provides them with a powerful opportunity to learn and practice identified leadership skills and thinking, strengthens key relationships across company functions, while increasing their working understanding, and the challenges of, the entire business.

The program begins with an intensive kick-off training. Key principles of leadership and teaming are taught, as leaders begin to develop the relationships and trust necessary for their Action Learning process to be a powerful, ongoing learning experience.

Upon completion of the kick-off session, each leader meets monthly with their Action Learning team and using the process they learned, they continue to explore and practice concepts of effective leadership by helping each other solve real business issues they are facing in their leadership roles. These meetings allow team members to continue their development without adding additional workload since they work together to resolve actual business issues currently consuming their time and energy.

The team will learn a process designed to provide solutions to real and challenging problems that will deliver genuine value for the organization. This process teaches a higher level of listening, thinking, and collaboration with the goal of new and innovative solutions.

In the process, participants learn to establish and maintain a team culture where people are:

  • Non-defensive and growth-oriented.
  • Open and curious.
  • Willing to share their “ignorance”.
  • Innovative and willing to take risks.
  • Supportive and collaborative, with the focus on wins that move the entire company forward.

Each monthly Action Learning team session is followed by a debrief meeting focusing solely on the leader and team behaviors they observed and on the “Learning Advisor”/Facilitator role. This debrief is a critical component of the learning process. These debrief sessions provide Crux Move with ongoing opportunities for feedback and coaching to each individual and the team.

The Crux Move Action Learning Experience

We carefully walk your “High Potential Leaders” through the Action Learning Model. After you identified and select participants within your company and divide them into two or more Action Learning teams, the individual work begins.

Your selected leaders will attend:

Step 1

An intensive three–day kick-off session. Training participants explore the impact of personal style, relationships, trust and the influence leaders have on creating an environment that produces the best results.

Step 2

Three- to four-hour, monthly or bi-monthly Action Learning meetings.

Step 3

A final meeting at the end of this leadership development program provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on what they learned and how learnings can directly be applied to their leadership roles. The final debrief also offers the opportunity to share their perceptions as well as their recommendations, about both what they learned about leadership and the culture and the business challenges they have explored with organization leadership.
